Second Round Scores at Wentworth Hills Country Club and
Who Made the Cut?
Dave Turgeon survived a quadruple bogey 7 on the par-3 8th hole, and a bogey 5 on the 9th; but reeled off five birdies on the back nine to cruise to a 1-under-par 70. Combined with his round 1 score of 1-under-par, 71, he's the guy to beat this weekend at Heather Hill on Saturday and Norton on Sunday. His two-day total of 141 gives him a 4-shot lead.
Ryan Dow had the early lead in the clubhouse as he followed his 73 at Foxborough yesterday with a 1-over-par round of 72 – two-day total, 145.
Bill White, the 2021 City Open winner, is lurking just five shots off the lead (146) after a 1-over-par round of 72.
Jake Gaskin, the tournament leader after the first round at Foxborough with a 4-under-par 68; struggled at Wentworth and finished the day with a two-day total of 147.
Jared Winiarz, who had a 1-uder-par round of 71 at Foxborough, followed with a 77 and a 148 total.
Kolby Simmons shot 75 at Foxborough then followed up at Wentworth with a 76, for a tow day total of 151.
Joe O'Malley is also at 151 thru two days.
It was windy and hot today, but the low humidity helped save the many spectators and players who found the shade near the 18th green quite nice for catching up on friends.
Wentworth Hills was in superb condition as Greens Superintendent, Peter Ohlson, provided outstanding green, tee and fairway play.
Many thanks to the Finocchi and Poholek families who provided a great experience for the golfers of the Attleboro area.
