Welcome to the AAGA Website - AAGAGolf.com
The Attleboro Area Golf Association is in its 62nd year of conducting golf tournaments for local golfers. The association was founded in 1961 by George Fredette, Alex Ohlson and Mal Wendell; three golf enthusiasts whose love for the game spawned their desire to cultivate the benefits of golf, and in so doing, broaden the scope and horizon of the game, and The City Open, in the Attleboro area.
The AAGA was formed for the purpose of organizing competitive golf tournaments for amateur golfers in the Attleboro area. Annual tournaments are held for men, women, juniors and seniors, with the crown jewel being the four-day AAGA Men's City Open Championship.
The AAGA is especially dedicated to perpetuating the game of golf for future generations; and as a result, sponsors junior clinics, college scholarships, and recognizes great golfing contributors with its Hall of Fame inductions.
The AAGA realizes that it can only continue to be successful with the generosity and cooperation of area golf courses and their management. We realize that closing down their course for any of the AAGA championships represents a significant sacrifice for which we are truly indebted.
Finally, we thank the The Attleboro Sun / The Sun Chronicle for their years of dedicated coverage of all the championships run by the AAGA.
