Heather Hill Country Club to Host Another AAGA Qualifier

What a day. After oppressive humidity over the last two weeks, "Black Friday" dawned like a breath of fresh air. No wind, green grass and temperatures in the 70s combined for ideal scoring at Heather Hill CC.

Course superintendent, Pete Fontaine, had the greens rolling fast and true as local players took advantage to post some of the best scores of recent years. Hats off to Elmo Finocchi, owner and operator of Heather Hill, who was there at 5 am prepping for player arrivals. Many thanks to the counter help that served up some great sandwiches and cold beverages.

Heather Hill North-Middle

Chad Lareau was medalist of the day, and number one qualifier on the North-Middle course with a 3-under-par score of 68. He was followed by Ryan McGovern and Jason See who both shot even-par rounds of 71.

The low 18 scores qualified for the City Championship that commences on Thursday, August 15th at Foxborough Country Club. 80 was the cut line on the N-M course.

Heather Hill Middle-South

Paul McCarey won the medalist honors on the Middle-South course with an even par round of 70. Thor Van Vaerenewyck took down second place with a 3-over-par round of 73. Seventeen players from the M-S course advance to the City Open. The cut was 81.

Heather Hill South-North

Justin Guimond and Chris Hanson shot rounds of even-par 71s on the South-North course. Seventeen players advance to the Open.

53 qualifiers from the three courses advance to the AAGA City Open that begins on Thursday, August 15th at Foxborough Country Club.
