2018 AAGA City Open Scoring

Kolby Simmons is the 2018 AAGA Men's Champion

Starting the back nine the final day, Eric Marchetti and Scott Congdon still trailed the leader at the beginning of the day, Kolby Simmons. Marchetti took a 9 on the par 4, 10th to drop out of contention.

Simmons bogied the short par 3, 16th which cut his lead to just one shot over reigning champion Scott Congdon, who missed a four-foot, birdie putt that would have made them tied for the championship.

Both parred the par 4, 17th, but in a bazaar turn of events, Congdon and Simmons struggled on the finishing hole, though Kolby Simmons survived to become the 2018 AAGA Men's Champions.

Michael Phillipp had a fine tournament finishing tied for second with Eric Marchetti, just one shot off the winning score of 295. Scott Congdon finished fourth at 297.

Jared Winiarz, not very long ago an AAGA Junior Champion, finished alone in fifth place with a 4-day score of 299.
