2016 AAGA Senior Championship
June 6th, Chemawa Golf Course
Sixteen time City Champion Marc Forbes took Monday's Senior Championship trophy, prevailing in a playoff against Jay Poirier. Both players were at one under par 67. Marc won with a par on the third playoff hole. Both players had parred the first two playoff holes.
Not far off the pace were former city champion Bill White and Rich Laliberte, both at 69.
The 50-59 division also came down to a playoff. Long hitting Foxboro member, Kevin Browne, beat out Attleboro's Chuck Flanagan on the first hole. Both players were at net 62.
Another playoff took place in the 60-69 group. Paul Callahan of Foxboro CC won on the first hole against Norton's Bob Scott. Both players had the best net score of the day in any division with net 59's.
Locust Valley's Ted Soukatas won the 70-79 division.
The 80 plus was won by Vin Brennan.
And a special nod to our oldest competitor, 96 year old Pete Turner.
The AAGA Committee would like to once again thank Glen Bourque and the Chemewa staff for their hospitality. The course was in perfect shape. And, the set up was just right for the local seniors.
Thanks to the 110 players who, despite their advanced ages, took just 4:10 minutes to complete most rounds.
